An important question asked by many is reflected in Acts 16:30
"What must I do to be saved?"
The answer is given in the very next verse:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved..."
According to God's word, there is only one way to truly experience God's love, forgiveness, and salvation.
That one way is by grace, through faith, or "belief" in God's son Jesus Christ.
God's word, in John 3:18 says that whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is already condemned.
Those words follow a familiar verse often referred to as "the gospel in a nutshell," That is John 3:16 which says:
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
In this verse God expresses His great love for you, He demonstrates what He was willing to do for you, He gives you the requirement for receiving it, and then reveals what your reward will be for "believing in Him."
By believing on Him, or in Him, we are saying far more than we believe that he simply existed,
we must be saying that we know that without him, we are lost and condemned.
We are looking to him as our only hope of salvation.
